GeoPark believes in partnerships that build development, so we were pleased to host the Governor of Casanare, Cesar Ortiz Zorro, and his team in a visit to our offices to follow up on our joint plan and continue working with purpose, commitment and determination on the department’s progress.
Coordinating closely with authorities and our neighboring communities is key to creating and sharing prosperity in the territories where we operate. This meeting allowed us to reinforce the path we have been building together that is based on trust, dialogue and action.
Thanks to the public-private partnership between the Governor’s Office, Casanare mayors and our team, investments of over 62 billion pesos have been made possible. The resources will be used in strategic projects in basic sanitation, road improvement, public infrastructure and other priority sectors, promoting the well-being and development of communities in Casanare.
Different sources of financing help these initiatives take form: the works-for-taxes mechanism, our voluntary investments, resources from community benefit programs, environmental compensation and other regulatory obligations that we fulfill with a long-term vision.
“We continue to manage partnerships and channel important resources from all sectors to invest them in developing Casanare,” Governor Ortiz said.
