Casanare, Colombia. August 20, 2021 – To continue promoting the sustainable development of the towns of Tauramena and Villanueva GeoPark has updated the Mayors and their teams, social organizations and neighboring communities of both municipalities on progress in the Land of Opportunities regional development program and presented the main results.
GeoPark has developed the Land of Opportunities program since 2019 with Colombian regional development bank Findeter to promote economic growth in both municipalities. Through the program we make diagnoses and classify the territories to identify economic development opportunities, and we design a local development strategy that we share with authorities and communities.
We are now in the design and planning phase of production projects that will contribute to the economic diversification of the two municipalities and boost their recovery.
