GeoPark Joins the Leadership, Environment and Recreation Youth Program in Ecuador

Quito, Ecuador. August 5th , 2021 – To contribute to its mission to Create Value and Give Back, GeoPark has joined the ‘Leadership, Environment and Recreation’ program of the Ecuadorian chapter of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). The initiative aims to strengthen the leadership capacities and soft skills of socially vulnerable adolescents.

The program will teach communication tools, art, literature and other subjects to develop the interpersonal skills of 30 youngsters between the ages of 12 and 17 from the Niños de María Foundation.

“We thank SPE for inviting us to be part of this important program to strengthen the educational process of these young people,” GeoPark Ecuador Nature and Neighbors Manager Maria Gabriela Moreta said. “At GeoPark we will continue to participate in projects that allow us to generate opportunities to bring changes to the country and contribute to the consolidation of a fairer and more inclusive society.”

GeoPark is committed to the well-being of its neighboring communities and the sustainable development of the territories where it carries out activities, and will continue working in projects that create learning opportunities and strengthen safe spaces for younger and older children alike.
