Meta, 11 de Septiembre – In close coordination with our neighbors, local authorities and institutions in Meta, we have worked enthusiastically in our commitment to strengthen our relationship of Good Neighborliness.
Being a good neighbor involves continuous dialogue, working on projects that benefit the entire community, respecting mutual rights, and approaching challenges constructively. This approach has been successful in allowing us to move forward in several initiatives that contribute to sustainable development in Meta.
To provide information about how we encourage dialogue, the contribution we make to local employment and the projects that allow us to deliver on our commitment to create and share prosperity in communities, we have published a new edition of our ‘Buenas Noticias, Buenos Vecinos’ newsletter.
The latest newsletter summarizes our work in the first half of 2024, based on four socio-environmental investment focus areas:
- Improving living conditions
- We donated more than 1,500 study kits to our youngest neighbors
- In partnership with the Colombian Civil Air Patrol, we provided 1,230 free of charge medical procedures
- We supported the creation of the Cabuyaro Volunteer Fire Department
- Promoting community works
- To support institutional strengthening, we donated equipment to the Barranca de Upia and Cabuyaro offices of the Justice Department, as well as to 5 Community Action Boards in both municipalities
- Supporting the environment sustainably
- Together with IDEAM, we are building the Eastern Plains Regional Center for Hydrometeorological Monitoring, in Villavicencio
- We calculated our water footprint across all our operations in Colombia, making us the first company in the country’s oil and gas sector to do so
- We held citizen engagement events as part of the environmental impact study of the Llanos 123 Development Area
We firmly believe that our activities contribute to well-being and the creation of prosperity in Meta, and we are as committed as ever to continue supporting those outcomes.
