In the first half of 2024 we continued to create and share prosperity with our neighboring communities in Casanare

We have worked enthusiastically, committedly and closely with our neighbors, local authorities and institutions in Casanare to strengthen our relationship of Good Neighborliness.

Facilitating continuous dialogue, developing projects that benefit the entire community, respecting mutual rights, and approaching challenges constructively are all part of being good neighbors. We know that working like this has enabled us to successfully develop various initiatives that contribute to the sustainable development of communities.

To provide more information about our community dialogue, our local contracting and the projects that allow us to deliver on our commitment to create and share prosperity in communities, we have published a new edition of our “Good News, Good Neighbors” bulletin.

Good News, Good Neighbors summarizes our work in our four pillars of socio-environmental investment:

  1. Improving living conditions
  • In partnership with the Colombian Civil Air Patrol, we provided 1,350 free-of-charge medical consultations
  • We have reached 52% completion of a new sewerage system and domestic wastewater treatment plant in Caribayona
  • We donated a refuse collection and compacting truck to Villanueva, enhancing the quality of life of more than 11,400 people
  • We donated more than 1,500 study kits to our youngest neighbors

  1. Promoting community projects
  • We have started a project to repair 17.5 km of the Vara-Soceagro road
  • We will help set up energy communities by installing solar PV solutions for 1,058 families in Monterrey and Paz de Ariporo through the Works for Taxes mechanism
  • Also through Works for Taxes, we have donated furniture and cultural items to 39 schools, benefiting more than 4,600 students from Hato Corozal and La Salina

  1. Promoting economic autonomy
  • We have helped develop local talent by promoting 100 employees in drilling, production, civil works, catering and health & safety positions
  • We are continuing a scholarship program for 20 young people from Villanueva and Tauramena who are currently studying at UNAD University’s Yopal campus

  1. Sustainable contributions to the environment
  • We inaugurated Tauramena’s first Green Classroom, an innovative and sustainable space designed to benefit students at the Tauramena Regional Center for Research, Education and Extension (CRIEET)
  • Together with the Orinoquia Biodiversa Foundation (FOB), we launched “Biodiversity in the Llanos 34 Block,” a book that documents the fauna and flora monitoring that we carry out in the area around our Llanos 34 Block.
  • We conserve more than 22 hectares and support the implementation of 10 productive beekeeping systems within the framework of the conservation project in the Mata de La Urama Integrated Management Regional District (DRMI), together with Corporinoquia and the FOB.
