La nueva Amerisur Supports Putumayo Reforestation Project

Puerto Asis, Putumayo. August 31, 2021 – To protect the environment and contribute to the restoration of ecosystems, La nueva Amerisur has joined an initiative led by the Vivero Pachamama Foundation to support reforestation in Mocoa and Puerto Asis in Colombia’s Putumayo department.

The Foundation aims to develop alternatives that contribute to mitigating climate change and developing environmental protection strategies in Putumayo communities. GeoPark is neighbor and shares the same goal, and donated half of the 1,100 saplings that were planted in the last week of July. The Putumayo department government and the Mayor’s Offices of Mocoa and Puerto Asis are also involved with the project.

“We thank the Foundation for inviting us to join this project that allows us to contribute to the protection of the environment,” La nueva Amerisur environmental manager Fabiola Pena said. “We are pleased to continue contributing to meeting the goals established in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and strengthening the institutions and environmental organizations that lead this kind of initiative.”

La nueva Amerisur will continue to manage partnerships to promote projects that contribute to the reduction of carbon emissions and contribute to the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the department.
