Bogota, Colombia. March 22, 2022 – To promote quality education in our neighboring communities in Casanare and Putumayo, we invite young women wanting to study science and engineering university courses to apply for scholarships.
Communication campaigns have reached hundreds of women from Tauramena and Villanueva in Casanare and from Puerto Asis in Putumayo about the requirements to apply for the scholarships. The main requirements are to be from the municipalities covered in the call or to have at least four years’ residency, and to want to study a university course in science or engineering.
Our scholarships cover the costs associated with the courses applicants choose in higher education institutions in Colombia’s principal cities, as well as fees and living expenses. The scholarships also give the holders a permanent support network and support their academic success.
Women wanting to apply should send a copy of their identity card, a cover letter detailing why they want to study a course in science or engineering, and their certificate and result in the “Saber Pro” ICFES Exam to co.becasllanos@geo-park.com (Tauramena and Villanueva) or co.becasput@geo-park.com (Puerto Asis), by Friday April 1, 2022.
Since we started the scholarship program in 2013, we have supported over 17 women from across all our areas of operations. We want to continue supporting the training of young students in professional areas in which women are less represented.
