Aware of the important work carried out by social leaders, wanting to contribute to the development of the territories it operates in and drawing on lessons learned from the Covid-19 pandemic, GeoPark started a new training program in 2021 for 130 social leaders – including 14 youth leaders – in the municipalities of Villanueva and Tauramena in Casanare department.

As part of our partnership with the National Batuta Foundation to promote music skills in children and young adults in Puerto Asis, the Foundation’s Chamber of Talent Orchestra held a concert called ‘Music of Diversity’ in Bogota.

To help strengthen local institutions, La nueva Amerisur has completed building improvements and the furnishing of Puerto Asis Health Department facilities and has also donated biomedical equipment to the municipal hospital.

As part of our partnership with the Fundación Nacional Batuta, which aims to develop the musical talent of children and adolescents in Puerto Asis, the Foundation’s Center of Symphony Music performed the concert ‘Notas de Alegría’ to dozens of people in the parish of San Francisco de Asis in the capital of Putumayo.

Oil and gas exploration and production company GeoPark has achieved the Equipares Silver Seal, the third oil and gas operator in Colombia to do so. The Company earned the Certification after Technical Standards and Certification Institute ICONTEC gave it a 91% rating in the implementation of the SGIG gender equality management system.

To protect the environment and contribute to the restoration of ecosystems, La nueva Amerisur has joined an initiative led by the Vivero Pachamama Foundation to support reforestation in Mocoa and Puerto Asis in Colombia’s Putumayo department.

To continue contributing to the well-being of its neighboring communities, for the fourth consecutive year GeoPark has supported the visit of the Colombian Civil Air Patrol Medical Brigade to Tauramena and Villanueva in Casanare department.

GeoPark has developed the Land of Opportunities program since 2019 with Colombian regional development bank Findeter to promote economic growth in both municipalities.

GeoPark has been working together with local authorities in Colombia’s Putumayo department to protect the most vulnerable of its neighboring communities in a spell of harsh winter weather that has caused a social emergency.
