Despite the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic and the fall in oil prices in 2020, GeoPark kept its commitment to become the neighbor and partner of choice of communities in Casanare.
GeoPark, a leading independent Latin American company in the exploration, operation and consolidation of oil and gas with growth platforms in six countries in the region, was chosen to be a member of the Energía que Transforma Consultative Committee, created by the Ministry of Mines and Energy of Colombia to advance the implementation of the sector’s gender equality strategy.
To promote inclusion and increase the quality of life of its neighbors with reduced mobility, this month GeoPark delivered wheelchairs and provided therapeutic advice to more than 30 neighbors in Casanare.
With support and coordination from the Decentralized Autonomous Government of the Province of Sucumbios, GeoPark has started a reforestation and recovery project around water sources to restore tree cover in Shushufindi.
During the celebrations of the sixty-ninth anniversary of the Tauramena Mayor’s Office: 1951 – 2020, GeoPark was acknowledged by the local administration for its support to the municipality’s health sector.

Over 130 people from across Magallanes and public and private sector organizations attended six workshops. GeoPark experts held six technical workshops on business and the energy industry in October and November, aimed mainly at oil sector professionals and university students.
GeoPark was rewarded for its commitment to the health and safety of its workers and contractors by winning the Gold award in the Inspiradores de la Tranquilidad awards held by insurance company ARL Seguros Bolivar.
