To raise awareness among our youngest neighbors about the importance of caring for and conserving the environment, we delivered a series of environmental classes in ten schools in Puerto Asis.

As part of our principles of good neighborliness and promoting local development, we donated a tractor to the association of cane sugar producers in the village of Quebradon to support the production of organic sugar. Representatives of several communities in the rural area of Puerto Asis lead the project.

In a ceremony headed by Colombia’s Labor Minister Angel Custodio Cabrera Baez, GeoPark received the Equipares Silver Award in acknowledgment of the Company’s commitment to closing gender gaps and promoting inclusion and diversity. In the ceremony that took place in Bogota, another 40 companies, 6 rural organizations and 2 SMEs received awards and recognitions. 

To support education about selective waste collection and environmental management systems in Colombia, GeoPark subsidiary la nueva Amerisur took part in the IV Post-consumer Waste Drive in Putumayo, led by Corpoamazonia, the Corporation for the Sustainable Development of the Southern Amazon.

To salute women for their work in communities and to promote their capacity to lead positive community transformations, GeoPark held the fifth version of Mujer Valiente in Tauramena and Villanueva municipalities in Casanare department.

GeoPark Limited, today announced its Board of Directors has approved a Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emission reduction strategy covering short, medium and long-term initiatives.

Aware of the important work carried out by social leaders, wanting to contribute to the development of the territories it operates in and drawing on lessons learned from the Covid-19 pandemic, GeoPark started a new training program in 2021 for 130 social leaders – including 14 youth leaders – in the municipalities of Villanueva and Tauramena in Casanare department.

As part of our partnership with the National Batuta Foundation to promote music skills in children and young adults in Puerto Asis, the Foundation’s Chamber of Talent Orchestra held a concert called ‘Music of Diversity’ in Bogota.

To help strengthen local institutions, La nueva Amerisur has completed building improvements and the furnishing of Puerto Asis Health Department facilities and has also donated biomedical equipment to the municipal hospital.

As part of our partnership with the Fundación Nacional Batuta, which aims to develop the musical talent of children and adolescents in Puerto Asis, the Foundation’s Center of Symphony Music performed the concert ‘Notas de Alegría’ to dozens of people in the parish of San Francisco de Asis in the capital of Putumayo.
