We contributed to the fourth visit to Puerto Asis by the medical team of the Colombian Civil Air Patrol (PAC), when 20 medical professionals gave specialized health services to more than 340 people free of charge.
We covered all the costs of the August 9-10 health brigade to the La Alea Basic Health Care Center, which was open to the inhabitants of more than 69 villages in the area and provided medical care in areas such as dermatology, gynecology, optometry, pediatrics, dentistry and family planning services.
The brigade attended more than 340 people from rural areas in Puerto Asis, providing 440 health services that included 284 specialized medical consultations and 162 non-surgical procedures, and issuing 152 pairs of prescription glasses.
“Thanks to this initiative I got an appointment that I had not been able to schedule. For those of us who live in these villages, this possibility of being seen by medical specialists without having to travel to town is very important,” said Aide Angulo, one of the patients treated.
“We proudly continue promoting initiatives that improve the life of our neighboring communities and give access to health services,” our Nature and Neighbors manager Anibal Fernandez de Soto said. “We thank those who participated in the brigade, as well as the Puerto Asis Mayor’s Office for its support in making the brigade happen, and our partner, the Colombian Civil Air Patrol.”
Our partnership with the Colombian Civil Air Patrol has improved the quality of life of people in Puerto Asis through free of charge medical appointments and treatment, and providing prescription glasses to local patients.
“We consolidated our mission of taking specialized medical services to the people,” Colombian Civil Air Patrol general director Pamela Estrada said. “This time, and with a lot of excitement, we went back to Puerto Asis with La nueva Amerisur. Since 2017, within the framework of our partnership with the Company, we have carried out four health brigades in Puerto Asis that have improved the quality of life of some 1,650 people, providing 946 medical treatments, 1,646 consultations and 500 medical procedures,” she added.
We firmly believe in continuing to support the health and well-being of the people of Puerto Asis, and thanks to our hydrocarbon exploration and exploitation activities in the area we will continue to support high-impact social investment projects that improve our neighboring communities’ quality of life.
